All young people deserve a chance to play
The Music Lessons Fund
Learning to play an instrument can be expensive but support is available. The Music Lessons Fund can help you to pay for your children's music lessons.

How does the Fund help?
It supports young people whose families can't afford to pay for music lessons. We cover part of the cost of the lessons, so that the family will not have to pay the full amount.
The young people, aged 5-18, will usually have their lessons in the Wirksworth area.
The application process is simple, confidential and decisions are made quickly. To apply for funds, please click here.
All requests for funds are dealt with discreetly and confidentially.
The Fund's trustees
The Music Lessons Fund is run by local people, long-term residents of Wirksworth and district.
They believe music provides an enriching, life-long experience. Financial hardship should not exclude young people from having the chance to play a musical instrument.

Young Musicians
The Fund has supported more than 140 young musicians, over the last 25 years, to learn their chosen instrument, including violin, drumkit, guitar, singing, clarinet and piano.
Previous students have progressed to take graded music examinations and to play in ensembles, bands and groups, as well as playing for their own enjoyment.
